As usually suspected, glass ornaments require additional packaging and sturdier-than-usual boxes to insure safe arrival. We take every precaution to insure that your investment arrives in great shape. Statistically every year, we either have one or no packages arrive with a damaged ornament. The one anomaly is beyond anyone's control, and is factually quite rare given the high volume of glass Christmas ornaments that we ship.

In addition to safe arrival, we also balance that need with keeping costs as low as possible. Nobody wants to buy a glass ornament for $8.00 and have the shipping be more than the cost of the ornament itself. To this end, we invest in specially padded inner envelopes which are in some cases totally sufficient to ship a single ornament as we can suspend the ornament within the box using the edges of the envelope itself to hold the ornament. Without getting into all the technical issues required for various combinations of shipping glass ornaments, you can be assured that we have made and will continue to make every possible effort to keep the shipping costs as low as possible, while also insuring their safe arrival.

The costs themselves are determined by the packaging required per the various kinds of ornaments you've ordered and the distance to your destination. For glass ornament shipping, the actual weight of the packed box is rarely a primary factor. Distance and packaging materials far outweigh consideration of weight. Both the USPS and FedEx charge in part based on the total volume of the box. We also strive to keep the volume down, while also making sure we have great packaging to ensure safe arrival. In the rare case where something actually arrives damaged, just send us an email, and we'll gladly replace it.
